Make room for the ritual
A matcha bar can be one tray on your kitchen counter. Keep the things you actually use together, give your whisk a place to dry and leave a little clear space for making your drink.
The everyday essentials
- Matcha you enjoy, sealed well and stored away from heat and light.
- A small sieve to break up clumps.
- A wide bowl and a bamboo whisk, or a small handheld frother.
- A measuring spoon, your favourite glass and water.
A simple preparation
Sift about 1 teaspoon of matcha into a bowl. Add 60 ml of warm water, around 75–80°C, and whisk in quick W-shaped strokes until smooth. Pour over ice and add milk to taste. Adjust the amount of matcha next time to find your own balance.
Keep it easy to use
Rinse your whisk with water after use and let it air-dry fully. Wipe the tray at the end of the day. A beautiful corner earns its place by making an ordinary habit easier.
